US Civil War Confederate Named Dufilho New Orleans 1861 Bowie Knife 14 Blade
For sale here is a great looking Bowie Knife. This is way outside of my area. The Bowie is in good overall condition with heavy patina. The Bowie has an overall length of 18.75" and a blade of just under 14". The blade appears to be made of carbon steel and the crossguard and ferrule are made of brass. At it's thickest point, the blade is 3/16 thick. The left ricasso is maker marked Dufilho / N. The right ricasso is not marked. The spine of the blade is stamped C. The spine of the blade has 7 groove marks that are spaced with X marks. The back of the blade has just under a 5 faux edge. The cutting edge of the blade appears to have old sharpening and use, but there are no nicks or major issues. The blade has rust and pitting, but a nice overall brown look. The blade shows light cracking and some sanding marks from hand shaping. The pommel of the handle has an Old English Monogram that i cannot make out, and may well be CJJ. This is a great looking piece that i cannot find any information on. If you have any additional information please let me know, and i will update the listing. You can shop with confidence. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Please take a look at my other great items!
