Stamped Civil War Cap Box Possibly Confederate with Brass Finial

This is a really neat Civil War percussion cap box. My father Jules was a decades-long Civil War antiques collector and dealer. For what it's worth, he showed this item to the late Confederate accoutrement expert Steve Mullinax in 1997. Mullinax believed it to be Confederate. I tried to include enough photos so that you could be the judge.
Obviously if the finial were lead instead of brass, this would be a much higher-value item. The cap box has been in our collection since'97 and was never a part of regular sales inventory. Just seeing the light of day again, now. We have many unique Civil War military antiques to consider.
