RARE Mathew Brady CDV Civil War Confederate General Ambrose Powell Hill
This is an Original Mathew Brady CDV of Ambrose Powell Hill, Confederate General. I have not seen this particular image before, but it is very similar to another Brady photo in the archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art of AP Hill with the same cheeck mole and distinctive folds on the outer corner of the eye. In the other known Brady image, Hill is wearing a similar dark non-uniform jacket. Measures approximately 2 1/2" by 4".
Came from a photo album at an estate sale of the family that owns the home used as General Hooker's Civil War Headquarters in Fredericksburg, VA. Please see my other auctions for more CDV's from the same eatate.
