Rare CSA CONFEDERATE SEAL 3.5Bronze Civil War 1872 Pickett Medal. This 1872 bronze replica of the Confederate States of America seal came from the same estate as the Louisiana Governor & Plantation Home cabinet photos I have listed this week.
The CSA seal offered here was produced in 1872 directly from the original CSA seal which was borrowed from Lt. Thomas Selfridge USN (later an admiral).
The seals were produced in gold, silver, and bronze for John T. The bronze seal has a diameter of 3 ½ with a vignette of George Washington in the center surrounded by a wreath of agricultural crops, and text THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA :22 FEBRUARY 1862 DEO VINDICE. The seal has a narrow mounting rim and the back is gilt. The overall condition is Excellent with light wear.
