Jones, Tatnall, Ingraham, Lynch, Johnston, Brent, Bennett, Hart, Gift, etc. Great reference for historians and researchers! Hard bound, 1895 1st edition, published by The Courier-Journal Job Printing Company, Publishers, Louisville, KY. 11.5" x 16"; 478 pages with tons of illustrations. This book has been rebound very nicely. Front and back covers and spine are in very nice condition.
Contents appear to be complete. At some point in the past, someone went thru this book page by page and repaired every tear or problem with some sort of thin, transparent tape.
(please see photos) There are some pages that appear to be detached and cut down, but they have been reinserted (probably before it was rebound). Overall, the repairs seem to have been fairly professionally done, possibly by the same people who rebound the book. The last half of the book seems to be in better condition, with fewer repairs, than the first half.
The color illustration in the front of the book looks like it was detached, and has been glued to a stiff blank page, probably also done just before it was rebound. There are many pages throughout that had no damage or repairs. There are no loose pages. Overall, a very useable/readable book.
