Roster of North Carolina Troops in the War Between the States. Raleigh, Ash & Gatling, State printers, 1882. All in original blind-stamped brown cloth over boards w/ beveled edges, decorative gilt emblem on covers, gilt spine lettering. All volumes contents lightly age-toned, very occasional, very sparse foxing here and there, otherwise clean, no markings. 1 front hinge paper split, front board loosening but attached; Vol.
3 has paper-clip mark in top margin of 3 pgs, lower corner of rear endpaper torn away. All volumes' cloth is lightly rubbed, outer gilt dulled but fully legible; some board corners bumped, rubbed through, tiny nicks to lower spine cloth. Volume 1 showing a 1/4-inch chip across the lower spine cloth. All sounding worse than it is: bindings of all volumes are firm, Volume 1 really showing most of the wear of the set.

Volume 4 lists general and staff officers or North Carolinians in the Confederate Navy and elsewhere.
