Most Civil War era gang molds I've seen have a single caliber. Some have multiple calibers but are typically confined to 2 or 3 sizes of round ball. I've never before seen a mold of this size that combines conical and RB in multiple calibers. It appears to made serve the specific weapons in use for a specific unit.
It has both pistol and rifle calibers. From left to right measured with a caliper but approx, Conical 0.383, 0.433, 0.461 then RB 0.455, (2) 0.545, 0.612, 0.652. Condition is good, especially considering the level of damage usually seen in a hard used brass mold.
It has some gaps and I doubt the projectiles cast would be usable. The block faces do not mate perfectly and the sprue cutter does not sit perfectly flat and flush. A blacksmith or other skilled craftsman could very likely true it all up and make it functional for practical use. The handles are missing with no indication of their precise shape. Almost certainly wood cylinder type hammered into place. If you want specific close up photos let me know and I will try to accommodate. Please be sure to view my other items.
