The three (3) buttons pictured here are described in. The book American Uniform buttons by Warren Tice. Left to right Cavalry s. CS 177a1 (script I) buttons.
All three buttons have the S. Which is the correct period backmark. These buttons made it through the blockade and many examples have been recovered in old CS camps and battle sites. This script C button has a mild push with a very nice mellow 150 year old patina and both script I buttons have surface corrosion otherwise fine.
