Nice Small Civil War Confederate Canteen. DESCRIPTION: Very unusual Civil War Confederate canteen.
Clearly made as a canteen, with 2 pair of cross pieces soldered on to hold strap. Also has characteristic convex sides. And, with the small size, 4 1/2 diameter, so typical of early state canteens. The material looks old, and the points of soldering the pieces can be seen.
It looks like a galvanized material. It has a separate threaded top w/cover soldered in. A great piece for display or to add to a collection.
