Confederate Tintype 6th Plate Cavalryman Published Double Armed In Battle Shirt
This is a 6th plate tintype of a Confederate cavalryman brandishing a brace of colt revolvers trying to look menacing as he poses wearing his battle shirt for the camera. It comes in a full case with repaired spine.
Many Confederate companies went to war wearing matching shirts as their uniform as in this case. I posted some other Confederates in their battle shirts for comparison (they don't come with my image). This image had appeared in the quarterly magazine devoted to colt revolvers, "The Rampart Colt".
The magazine does not come with the image, but I'm sure you can find back copies. The magazine article that used my image states it's a 9th plate tintype in error. This is truly a 6th plate tintype. Check out my other auctions and thank you for looking.
