CIVIL WAR US UNION CS CONFEDERATE ARTILLERY GUNNER LEATHER CARRY HAVERSACK CASE. Hese were used by the gunner in the number four position to carry the loaded charge from the limber to the muzzle of the gun. These haversacks protected the charge from an errant ignition source that may set it off. Oak tanned leather with correct style black japanned roller buckles on both the flap closure and shoulder strap.

The body measures approximately 12" X 14" with a 5 gusset all the way around. Includes an inside pouch for storage.
