Civil War Relic Confederate Mississippi Style Spur Rec. Brucetown, Virginia
Description: Nice locally dug spur with a slick dark green patina. This one is intact with a partial iron rowel and ever so slightly tweaked neck. These are often referred to as "Mississippi" style spurs but are now thought to have been produced in Virginia.
Pieces of these spurs are found in abundance in the Shenandoah Valley. These are often recovered with the neck broken off.
