Private Eugene Worthington served 4 years with the 1st Maryland Light Artillery including the Battle of Antietam and Gettysburg, and surrendering at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. An Original Confederate Cross of Honor Application Certificate for Worthington listing his service with the unit and parole at Appomattox. The 1908 certificate is signed by Worthington, and also by Comrades Willis Higgins and Robert Welch, and UCV Camp Commander James W Owen, and again signed by Worthington as the UCV Camp Adjutant. 1p 8x 11 green paper, ptd/ink with ragged edges, age stains, and archival repairs on the reverse folds.
