This is a beautiful and almost undetectable reproduction Texas militia buckle. It is constructed of stamped sheet brass as are the originals. It has been chemically aged then buried to give it the correct patina. The buckle is encrusted with dirt as would be found on an original, dug plate. This would be a great filler in a buckle collection or Civil War display. Originals of this buckle range in the thousands of dollars, however, we reiterate that this buckle is a REPRODUCTION and NOT an original piece.
