THIS IS A VERY RARE SWORD WITH ORIGINAL SCABBARD, PUBLISHED IN THE BOOK " AMERICAN SWORDS & MAKER'S MARKS" BY DON FURR. THIS IS THE ACTUAL SWORD THAT IS PUBLISHED IN THE BOOK PAGE 154. NOT MANY SURVIVED, AND 98% THAT SHOW UP TO MARKET ARE FAKE. NASHVILLE FELL TO THE UNION ON APRIL 1, 1862, THIS ONE IS GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC FOR LIFE. THIS SWORD CAME FROM THE FAMOUS MUSEUM LIKE COLLECTION OF AUTHOR, EXPERT, GURU DON BALL. WHAT IS RARE ABOUT THIS ONE IT IS THE EARLY MODEL SEE DESCRIPTION IN THE BOOK, IT'S THE ONE ON THE LEFT LESS THAN 10 OF THESE ARE KNOWN TO EXIST WITH THE SLIGHTLY SMALLER GUARD. LOOK AT PICTURE N 3 FOR COMPARISON WITH LATER MODEL, WHICH I HAVE ALSO LISTED. THE THROAT ON THE SCABBARD APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN REATTACHED, REGARDLESS IT IS VERY RARE, SLIGHTLY SMALLER GUARD AND SLIGHTLY SHORTER, BLADE MEASURES 35 INCHES.

This exact sword is pictured in Don Furr's 1999 text "American Swords & Maker's Marks" page 154, this is the early model pictured on the left, very rare.
