Civil War Confederate Brigadier General 12th Virginia Infantry Regiment "WEISIGER'S BRIGADE", Colonel 39TH Virginia Militia, fought at Seven Pines, severely wounded Second Bull Run, Wilderness & Spotsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor, wounded at Battle of the Crater Petersburg.
He was Officer-of-the-Day, Virginia Militia, at the hanging of JOHN BROWN. After the war he was a banker, planter and businessman. Ornate black & white, long train left, goddess head right, with printed U. Revenue stamp RN-B24 + 3 Cent Revenue, on thin currency paper. Usual cut cancel, aging, edge wear & folds.
