Civil War Confederate Cavalry C Button, dug in Tennessee, Western Theater
Authentic, excavated, Civil War Confederate Cavalry "C" 23mm coat button. This button was recovered from a Confederate cavalry camp in Eastern Tennessee. This button came directly from the digger, who recovered it from a known CSA encampment of, James Longstreet. The button has the appropriate civil war period "Superior Quality" backmark with serif font. More information about this button can be found on pg. 371 of Albert's American Uniform and Historical Buttons, cataloged as "CS 127-A1". The button still maintains a solid shank-excavated examples in this condition are very scarce!
