This is a great Civil War Bible most likely brought to the US on a Blockade Runner from England into the Confederacy. Owned and signed by Thomas H. He enlisted in 1861, was wounded at Gaines Mill in 1862.
From there, he fought at Gettysburg in 1863, where he was wounded and furloughed. Two months later he died of his wounds at his home in Ripley, Mississippi.
It is missing the back cover and the spine is loose, but is otherwise complete. It is signed in pencil and has a few hand notes on the cover page. This is a great Bible with a Gettysburg and deep Confederate links - don't miss it!
