The Confederate Note and picture of the woman whom was making pies just after the Battle of Gettysburg. Then a typed representation of what happened. Story goes a guarded column of Confederate Prisoners of War were being marched off to an encampment after the Battle of Gettysburg. One of the prisoners smelled the aroma of pies being baked and broke away. He then offered Jonas Legore, the 18 year old son of Elizabeth Legore.

Per the typed description, this piece was passed down to Jonas Legore's great grandson, Tom Legore, the estate this piece came from. Fascinating piece of history, have never heard this story before. Of course, no way for anyone to prove it's veracity over 156 years later. What does make it interesting is the lady whom made the pie and whose son gave the prisoner a pie were relatives of the Legore's, the estate that this unique piece came from. You will have to be the judge as to piece's authenticity.
