1861 DEMOPOLIS Alabama TWO CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS Sixth Plate w CASE. Circa 1861 Civil War Sixth Plate Ambrotype Photograph in Case; Portrait of two Confederate soldiers in uniform. Information from previous owner indicates that this image was found in Demopolis, Alabama. Both soldiers wear light colored uniforms and there is gold gilt embellishment to the coat buttons. The young man on the right, in Napoleonic pose, has dark colored trim at his collar and jacket cuffs.
Approximate case size is 3-1/8" x 3-5/8". Condition: case has light soiling, occasional scuffs and edge wear. Emulsion abrasions where image meets brass mat.
