ANTIQUE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR RARE CONFEDERATE CAVALRY SWORD WITH UNFULLERED BLADE. THE MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS WITH COPPER WIRE ON THE LEATHER AND WOOD GRIP. THE SCABBARD IS IRON WITH SILVERED OR SOME SORT OF PAINTED FINISH. BLADE IS LARGE AND UNFULLERED, FLAT ON BOTH SIDES, TYPICAL TO CONFEDERATE SABERS.
CONDITION IS FARE WITH MUCH PATINA, BLADE AND HILT HAVE VERY SLIGHT MOVEMENT. LIKELY 1850s-1860s CONFEDERATE MADE AND USED. TOTAL LENGTH IS 42 1/2" BLADE IS 33".
