This antique 9th Plate tintype photograph depicts an Union Militia Enlisted man in Uniform during the Civil War (1861-65). The photograph is an original and a true piece of militaria history from the United States. From our understanding brought to our attention is that we have a Tintype photo of an Enlisted man in uniform showing ranks off his militia Organization wearing a Massachusetts Belt Buckle along with letter CG on his Cover which could mean "City Guard". The detail in the photograph captures a moment frozen in time.
The picture frame and closer is in excellent condition. Outside of frame cover has worn areas on the surface only. Hard to find a piece of history like this in the condition we have here. This piece is a must-have for any serious collector of Civil War memorabilia and military photographs. The photograph is in excellent condition and has been well-preserved over the years. It is a rare and unique item that provides a glimpse into the past. Please view attached photos for a better description and Condition. Will answer questions to the best of my knowledge.
