This is a very nice Confederate Bowie. This one isn't as aesthetically appealing as the other ones in my opinion but a very well made knife and a handsome one none the less. Thick, one piece walnut handle.
The condition is original, as found. Shows expected wear from use and old age patina. Blade is 13-1/4", thickness is a strong 1-4''; Handle is 5".
The knife is nice and solid no wiggle except for the pommel cap turns a little right & left. Blade sharp and very pointy. Looks like it hasn't been messed with since it's days of service. Some experts on CSA Bowie knives can tell what part of the south they were made in by the style of the clipped points. It's a Southern blacksmith Bowie for sure.
