THIS BOOK IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION Bound in textured, covers with gold, impressed lettering on the spine, the book is in excellent overall condition. It is clean and solidly bound.
The exterior has no bumping, and only light rubbing and edge wear. The gold lettering remains clear, bright and sharp.
The interior is clean and the pages are in great shape; they are free of any smudging or foxing. The only writing in it is what looks like a name "MD Sugg" or "ND Sugg" on the front, end page. I have not evaluated this name to see if it is to a Civil War soldier. The book is solidly bound throughout. It has no looseness or lean and both hinges are fine. The book is loaded with diagrams, illustrations and sketches supporting medical diagnosis and indicating treatments and procedures. A large book with 887 pages.Written by a former Confederate, this is a wonderful, Civil War era medical book on the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and the conduct of surgical procedures.
