I ALWAYS HAVE a great selection - - and PLEASE. To see my son's old books. A fantastic addition to your civil war library! It does NOT have a title page. I believe that was in vol. 1, which I don't have. Title : - Atlas -War of the Rebellion- volumes 2 and 3. ATLAS TO ACCOMPANY THE OFFICIAL RECORDS OF THE UNION AND CONFEDERATE ARMIES.
Published under the direction of Hon. LARGE size = 18" x 15". 3/4 leather with 5 raised bands and gilt decorations on the spines. Illustrated with 213 full page plates/ maps. Which are 18" x 30".
Most in color or sepia! Vol 2 are plates 61-120, mostly the battles and positions of the troops on both sides Gettysburg too! / Vol 3 are plates 121-175. Which include 10 full page sepia- which have 99 pictures in total, 10+ full USA maps, 1 color of the uniforms, 1 weapons, 1 "means of transportation", and maps of the states [including listing the Indian territories].Photos carefully as they are part of the description. All of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees. Very good to excellent condition....
Boards - very secure, some wear to the leather, the cloth part has some discoloration. Spine ends - 3 of the 4 are very good, Vol 2 has a small chip to the top of the spine. Most are worn through -touched up so they look better. Inner hinges - very good.Pages - VERY CLEAN - only a few small spots [like 5-7] /picture #4 shows a bit of spotting/ discoloration to 1 of the pages / there is also a very small hole near the gutter on 1 of the pages [see picture #7 -I put pink paper behind it]. Writing - names on the front free end papers - Lt. 33rd inf / & John P Zanes. Rips /folds - there are about 6 rips that are about 1", about 20 rips that are apx 1/4", and maybe about 30 that are 1/8 - NO FOLDS. Other - please note - MISSING VOL 1 --all plates in these 2 volumes are accounted for & in wonderful condition!
