Life, Army Record and Public Services of D. Louisville: The Bradley & Gilbert Company, 1890. Colonel Dabney Howard Smith b.

Kentucky 1821 had a political career in Kentucky before raising a cavalry unit (5th Kentucky) for the Confederacy during the Civil War. He was a colonel serving under General John Hunt Morgan. He was a prisoner of war, then released and rejoined his unit, which for some reason involved in a bank robbery. After the war he practiced law in Kentucky.

The book tracks his entire military career and describes the death of General Morgan. Frontispiece portrait of Smith, with tissue guard. Light spotting/discoloration to cover, barely starting to separate at gutter, top, but still firmly bound (see images).
