The Montgomery True Blues were a regiment first chartered in 1836 by the Alabama Legislature. The company volunteered its services in 1861 when Alabama seceded from the Union.
The True Blues participated in the capture of Fort Barrancas and Pensacola Bay, FL, and later became a part of the Third Alabama Infantry of the Confederate Army. Condition: Some chips to the lower blank margin, fold lines, and a ¾ hole toward middle of broadside with the loss of several of the letters in Montgomery, otherwise good condition.
