A short 1864 Confederate letter written by Captain Marcus W. Johnson, commissary officer for the 57th Georgia Infantry, to Colonel Lucius B. Northrop, Commissary General in Richmond. Enclosed please find my summary for February 1864, which I would have forwarded soon had not I have been delayed in collecting dues from Officers of 57th Ga Regt. The balance of Eleven hundred and Sixty dollars as shown in statement is on hand & subject to your orders.
The letter was written on typical thin Confederate paper measuring about 6 x 9. It is in excellent condition as shown.
