1861 $20 Confederate CIVIL War Currency Note T-21 Alexander Stephens Nice
An attractive and quite rare. This is the very hard to find "Alexander Stephens" type, T-21, light green print. Portrait of Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens in oval at center, surrounded by scenes of plenty; Green XX's in watermelons either side. Fancy XX and green protectors in scrollwork at right. Bank is blank as issued. This is a very rare type; just 164,000 were issued and rarely available in any grade. It is one of the most attractive of Confederate notes. This is a beautiful and high collectible example of this type!
Hand signed and numbered by Confederate officials M. Winston, for Register and J. An attractive a bright boldly colored note with strong signatures. A couple tiny pinholes as typical; some old mount marks at reverse corners.
