This was the first high denomination note issued by the Confederacy for general circulation! Features central vignette of slaves loading cotton bales onto wagon.

Large C for 100 at right. Back is blank as issued. Hand signed and numbered by Confederate officials for Register and for Treasurer. (Certificate of Authenticity with identification of signers included at no extra charge). Hand signatures of Confederate officials C.

Thayer, for Register, and John Ott, for Treasurer. A small area of ink smear from Thayer's signature (on note above in sheet) at upper left. A note that saw actual use during the Civil War.
