Tullahoma Tennessee CIVIL War Confederate General Order 1863
Tullahoma was a strategic Civil War location and HQ of The Army of Tennessee in 1863. An original General Order issued at Headquarters Army of Tennessee, Feb 14, 1863 calls for all officers absent from their commands to return within 30 days or be dismissed from the service, and issued by Major Kinloch Falconer as AAG. 1p 8 x 5 ptd, w ink notation at bottom. This order was issued soon after the Battle of Murfreesboro and came with the effects of Major John Ingram, 6th Tennessee CSA, and aide to General Benjamin Cheatham, Polk's Corp, Army of Tennessee. General & Special Orders were issued to communicate commands and information to the Army. Each order, issued in writing by a command, was then printed for distribution to each unit, either at an army department headquarter or by commanders at local headquarters, sometimes in the field on portable printing presses.
