Great Civil War Tintype Man w Pipe & Black Powder Gun Possibly Confederate

An original circa 1860's tintype photograph of 1/6th plate size depicting a middle aged man in a seated pose, smoking a clay pipe and holding a black powder rifle with a powder horn at his side. The man wears a small checkered patterned shirt and would at first appear to be a hunter but a close inspection of the buttons on his shirt indicates they seem to have a eagle on them and are pre Civil War militia buttons raising the possibility that he is a Civil War soldier and possibly from the Confederate side. The image is unfortunately unidentified and comes with an attached mat just as a picker recently found it in a very old estate. Condition - has some light wrinkles at upper right area and a small deterioration spot at about 2 o'clock otherwise fine. A very interesting tintype image.
