Confederate Veteran Kepi Post CIVIL War Hat U. C. V. Uniform Piece
Century United Confederate Veteran Kepi. It has the early C V hat wreath, but the hat is early to mid 1900s. Grey wool body has a few small moth holes here & there, but the hat is still strong enough to wear. There is also some moth damage around the base of the hat where the wool rolls into the inside. The sweat band is loose but not falling out- it should be re-stitched.
Lining is all there and it is maker marked Henderson Ames of Kalamazoo. It has a size sticker that is partly torn off you can see the 7 but I think it is a 7 ½. Visor, bullion chin strap and side buttons are all nice and strong. See photos and message me with any questions. This is a wonderful display item, but could also be worn if handled with care.
