CONFEDERATE NUTCRACKER Signed Ulbricht 1996 Civil War Texas Christmas Military

This is truly a unique item: A Confederate soldier Nutcracker created and signed by Christian Ulbricht and also signed by a descendant of Confederate Captain E. This one-of-a-kind nutcracker stands 15 inches high, and the base is roughly 4 inches square. The figure is a CSA soldier, crafted in the likeness of E. Nichols, who was a captain of the Galveston Rifles during the Civil War. The nutcracker is complete with long rifle, canteen, glasses, satchel, hunted turkey, a corncob, and two CSA-marked items: his belt buckle and a receptacle near his right hand. He is outfitted in a CSA officers uniform: his hat bears nine white stars on the top, his gray and blue jacket has three silver buttons, his cuffs have three bronze-colored clasps or buttons, and he wears black boots. His accoutrements are fixed to the figure, and he is a fully-functioning nutcracker. Condition is good to very good. The paint on his right arm is worn a bit, and there is light wear near the calf area of his trousers, though his appears possibly to be intentional. The satchel is worn, but it could also be intentional. There may be a feather or two missing from the turkey. Too, there is light wear at three spots on his right side, on his trousers and jacket. The wooden base is immaculate. On the bottom of the base there is attribution to Captain Nichols with a signature from H. Nichols, who was a twentieth-century descendant. Also there is Christian Ulbrichts signature with the date of 7-7-1996.
The nutcracker holds small gold booklet (in German) about the Ulbricht Company. A wonderful item for the collector of nutcrackers, CSA material, Americana, Texana, or unique holiday items.
