ANTIQUE 1862 DATED AMERICAN CIVIL WAR NAVAL NAVY CUTLASS SWORD MARKED "CSN" POSSIBLY CONFEDERATE. THE MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS WITH GOLD WASH FINISH, GRIP IS LEATHER AND WIRE WRAPPED. THE GUARD HAS CUT THROUGH LETTERS "CSN" AND HAS ONE LARGE AND FEW SMALL DENTS. THE SCABBARD IS OF OLD LEATHER WITH COPPER RIVETS.
CONDITION IS GOOD WITH HEAVY PATINA. BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. POSSIBLY A UNION CUTLASS ADOPTED AND ALTERED BY CONFEDERATE SAILOR. TOTAL LENGTH IS 31 1/2" BLADE LENGTH IS 26".Please refer to pictures for item condition.
