1862 T-43 $2 The Confederate States of America Note CIVIL WAR Era
This note has the same design as the T-42 note but with a "2 TWO" green overprint added by B. The Confederacy was unwilling to pay for the extra cost of the overprint and Duncan soon dropped it. This note features a Vignette at the center representing the South Striking Down the North.
At the upper left is a portrait of Judah P. Benjamin, a noted Jewish lawyer and states man who was Secretary of War and then State for the Confederacy. This Civil War era note grades Fine+.
